Update TIFF Image Printer 7.0.008 to 7.0.010 - September, 2006
In order, to control the number of jobs being converted at a time in TIFF Image Printer 7.0, there is now a Set Max Jobs command. It sets a registry key value that controls the number of jobs that can be executed in parallel, there by preventing too many jobs from running at the same time.
This release fixes the Simple MAPI and Extended MAPI support. In previous builds, the Simple MAPI and Extended MAPI e-mail support was not correctly passing the UNICODE string through the API, which resulted in e-mail address not being resolved to one recipient.
This release fixes the e-mail support in 7.0.008 and 7.0.009 builds that prevented the e-mail modules from loading when not Office 2007.
Added 7.0.008 added support for Office 2007. There was an issue configuring e-mail when using Office Excel 2007 beta. We have added a workaround for this issue.
Update TIFF Image Printer 7.0.006 &7.0.007 - June, 2006
In this update, processing of printing and converting pages to TIFF is controlled on the printer's properties Advanced tab. All print spooling options are supported.
- When you selected "Print directly to the printer", the conversion process is completely synchronous. So when you print, the printing and conversion process will not return until the job is completely finished.
- When you select "Start printing when last page is spooled", the conversion process will not start until all pages have been spooled.
- When you select "Start printing immediately", the conversion process start immediately. This is the default.
- Install has been reduced significantly.
This release also fixes issue where user define variables Var0 through Var9 in script file were not being passed to the conversion process.
Update TIFF Image Printer 7.0.004 - May, 2006
This is a cumulative patch release to fix the following issues:
Canceling print job failed to cancel the job. Print job is now cancelled as expected.
When "Spool print documents so program finishes faster" is selected on the Advanced tab of the printer's properties dialog, the conversion to TIFF process is done asynchronously. This processing is the same processing model used by PEERNET.DRV eTIFF 6.0.
When "Print directly to printer" is selected on the Advanced tab of the printer's properties dialog, the spooling and conversion to TIFF are processed synchronously. This mode makes it easier to automate the conversion process and know when the TIFF file(s) are finished being created. PEERNET.DRV eTIFF 6.0 does not offer this mode of processing.
Fixed random problem with AutoCAD shaded fills that would randomly be drawn incorrectly.
Released TIFF Image Printer - March, 2006
Added support for Windows XP Professional x64 Edition and Windows 2003 x64 Edition that supports both AMD64 and Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology (EM64T). This product does not support Itanium-based Systems.
Added support for specifying LZW and Packbits compression for black and white TIFF images. LZW black and white compressed TIFF images are useful for creating black and white images that can be opened by Adobe ® Photoshop.
Added new variables to provide information users entered on the Print Dialog to clients that send their TIFFs to be printed on a printer capable of printing TIFF images directly.
$(Copies) - Number of copies
$(Collate) - 0 for FALSE, 1 for TRUE
$(Duplex) - 1 for Simple (Not Duplex), 2 for Vertical Duplex, 3 for Horizontal Duplex
All processing of strings and file names are now fully UNICODE compliant throughout the architecture. This resolves several issues on Chinese and Japanese Windows as well as other version of Windows using UNICODE languages.
The print process has been architected to support printing without the possibility of the print queue locking up or users blocking each other when printing at the same time from within a terminal server client session.
All printing is now processed synchronously simplifying the automation process for application developers.
Added a Copy Printer program that supports creating copies of the TIFF Image Printer 7.0 and makes it a breeze to create copies of the printer with different default settings.
A new name, TIFF Image Printer was chosen to replace PEERNET.DRV eTIFF in order to better reflect the main purpose of the application and to highlight the fact this driver does not support older versions of the Microsoft Windows operating systems. Owners of PEERNET.DRV eTIFF can upgrade to the TIFF Image Printer at a discount.
TIFF Image Printer support Windows 2000, XP and 2003. It does not support older Microsoft Windows versions such as NT 4.0, Windows 95, 98, 98 SE and ME. Version 6.0 of PEERNET.DRV eTIFF is still available for those requiring support of these older platforms.
